Garden Blooming

Strawberries, roses, marigolds....


Last year, I missed a lot of gardening due to a back that is not cooperating.  So, my dear made me a couple of surprises.  Two large raised beds!  They are made from recycled pine flooring that we had around.  They are the perfect height for my short self.  The white on the boards just needs to be wiped off.  I have stuffed the beds with plants! Veggies, herbs, flowers...maybe 50 plants in each box.  It's going to be grand!

I have never seen an indigo bunting at my place.  It felt like magic had visited...





I'm thinking this is the female...but, I'm not so sure.  If you know please correct me!

::Brimfield::

We spent the day at Brimfield yesterday.  It was great fun to walk around and see all of the creative vendors with their wares.  I walked away with an old French watering can.  It's a beauty made of galvanized metal.  While it's seen plenty of garden chores over the years, there is still plenty of life left in it!  I may get to France someday but, in the meantime I can water my gardens with this beauty! I have no photos from the day as I didn't want to lug around a heavy camera. I'm thinking a small camera would be handy this summer when we want to travel light.

::VGMB Earth Day::

Earth Day at our friends farm.  We go here every year for the past...maybe 5 or 6 years I think.  The bear marks the beginning...

It poured for most of the day but, we were snug inside the barn with friends and good music!


Chris our favorite sound man.  He's at all the shows and sound by him is perfection! He's listening here and making sure it sounds just right...he closes his eyes when he's checking!

I don't often post things here on journeyseeds, that  I have for sale in my etsy shop.  This dress from the 1800's was something I just had to show you.  It certainly has its flaws.  However, it's just gorgeous.  The seamstress that created this did a fabulous job.  I know a fair amount of you sew and would appreciate seeing this work...made so long ago.
