Tasha Tudor played such an important role in my young growing up and mothering years. I loved her books, her homestead, her lifestyle but, especially her gardens. When my daughter was young I had a friend, that was a weaver and was good friends with Tasha. She was in a book with Tasha as well. At the time she had tried to arrange a visit with Tasha and Emma to meet. They would have gotten along famously I'm sure of it. We had several old fashioned dresses made up for Emma to wear just for the occassion. Alas...the visit did not ever happen. We never had the chance to meet our garden and lifestyle heroine. We always have a sigh of sadness of never having had met her in person. Despite this, we still feel like we know her through her childrens books as well as the books by Richard Brown and Tovah Martin. Today, I was dreaming of Tasha and her garden...garden dreams sweet Tasha.

Linden - I adore Tasha tudor as well - she was such an inspiration - like you :) did you know that near Brattleboro Vermont is a museum dedicated to Tasha Tudor? Each time we pass it - I long to stop and go in - but I'm never driving and my peeps would rather go swim in the river than walk through gardens and museums......someday you and I should go together. What fun that would be!
hugs to you on this summer day -
Beth
