Another reason that I sell vintage tyepwriters! This is a fabulous idea. Funny coincidence...we were just talking about long bike trips and the plans about making them...
Spring arrives! We made it...we made it through another winter. A big hare appeared in the reflection box today. She came with eggs, ribbons, flowers and light...how exciting. This little spot is on our walkway so we will see her coming and going. A tiny periwinkle flower peeks out of her neck. Equinox blessings on the day...
Taproot arrived today! I've been looking for it each day in the mailbox. It is beautiful! This first issue's theme is Soil. I can't wait to curl up with this new gem. If you'd like a subscription for yourself or a friend...it would be wonderful to help this fledgling beauty along. Living fully...Digging Deeper...yes.
In the end -- and it will end -- your life will seem to have sped by like a fleeting dream. Much of your story will be the age-old but ever joyful human experience: romance, family, satisfying work, and happy completion. I wish you a great fountain of successes. You will also be provided with all the failures and tragedies necessary to deepen and widen your soul -- sufficient, I hope, to make you wise and forgiving of all human frailties. I pray that these necessary troubles will never long crush your optimism nor your love for this magical life.
The greatest danger before you is this: you live in an age when people would package and standardize your life for you -- steal it from you and sell it back to you at a price. That price is very high.
You have already been selected for this program. You have its credit cards and designer labels already expensively around you. In the months ahead, you will find yourselves working long hours, too exhausted for community life or even good friendships -- too compromised to take a stand against the abuses of the system you serve. A great treadmill has been devised for you, and its operators do not care much if it wears you out or kills you. A system is in place to steal your life from you, if you will let it. Don't let it.
Read, study, meditate and think for yourself. Let your most serious education now commence, if it has not already done so. Refine and hold your own values, and pay the high price necessary to live those values. Decide what is important to you, and hold your ground against all temptations and tortures. From the pink granite of your own values, build a fortress against the world's ethical compromises, or you will soon be among those dead of eye who stand next to you in elevators but who are not alive. Don't let them steal your life. This is the only warning you will receive.

That’s the operative phrase: though the culture teaches we all ought be sliced and filleted into the same shape…. The dangerous old woman says otherwise: We are here on earth, each of us, to become one-of-a-kind. And to thereby lead the way, piece by piece, note by note, to a finer world of human beings, creatures and nature, a world worth living in… where wise women don’t ask what a person looks like, dresses like, nor demand that all ought be/act alike… where wise women are far more concerned with whether the heart is good, whether one’s care for self and others is evident, whether the spirit is interested and interesting, whether the soul enacts its promises, and finds its grace notes daily.Because such women know that to “live and let live,” is not enough, but rather to “live and love and let live,” is just the useful credo… because such women do not follow the ‘cultural partyline’ about how to see the world or their lives…. because they strive to love and hold boundaries, because they believe in protecting what is precious and cannot be allowed to perish from this earth– they resist being trained to pretend they are indecently empty-headed or content to live as depotentiated know-nothings … Thereby such women are the most dangerous women of all.
And there are more dangerous women on the face of the earth right now, than ever, ever, ever before in all of human history.

elsie over on A Beautiful Mess does a 10 Things I Love Sunday post. I thought I'd try that today because I think it's a cool way to find other online shops to support indie businesses I like, while supporting creative artists. Spread the local (online) indie business love around. If you have a creative indie business that you might like me to write about and share here please contact me so we can feature you here.

A mind map is a graphical way to represent ideas and concepts. It is a visual thinking tool that helps structuring information, helping you to better analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall and generate new ideas.
Just as in every great idea, its power lies in its simplicity.
In a mind map, as opposed to traditional note taking or a linear text, information is structured in a way that resembles much more closely how your brain actually works. Since it is an activity that is both analytical and artistic, it engages your brain in a much, much richer way, helping in all its cognitive functions. And, best of all, it is fun!
But what can we use mind maps for?
It is hard to make justice to the number of uses mind maps can have – the truth is that they can help clarify your thinking in pretty much anything, in many different contexts: personal, family, educational or business. Planning you day or planning your life, summarizing a book, launching a project, planning and creating presentations, writing blog posts -well, you get the idea – anything, really.
This is a great illustration and explanation of Mind Mapping. I am working on alot of ideas for Journeyseeds right now and setting up a mind map will allow me to see everything that is jumbled up in my mind right now. I was in the bookstore the other day looking at books and I came across Barbara Scher's book Refuse to Choose: A Revolutionary Program for Doing Everything You Love. I read her Wishcraft book way back when! This book is all about Scanner's.
The Scanner is someone who frequently has a multiplicity of interests, but finds it hard to create a successful life he or she loves because their passions and abilities are taking them in so many different directions. I'm sure there are alot of you that can relate to this! So, I'm thinking that mind mapping might help with this right now. How many of you are Scanner's and how does that manifest in your life? Perhaps using a mind map might help you get to some core issues regarding your goals and directions in life. I'm going to get to work on one. I'll share it with you when I'm finished with it.
After working all day in the garden we snuck off to its edge. Bone tired, we fell into the beanpole teepee. You whispered in my ear about dreams. I remember you said...I'm so sorry. A warm tear fell down my cheek and you caught it with your hand. We put both of our hands on the ground. A seed of understanding was planted that day. We will dig it up over time.
